In our country, the safety certifications include CCC certification (mandatory) and CQC certification (voluntary), but products sold to the European market must be CE certified in accordance with their corresponding directives. If the motor products involved are supporting equipment, they should also be CE certified. This is why customers require motors to be CE certified .
In the EU market, the 'CE' mark is a compulsory certification mark . Whether the product is produced by an enterprise within the EU or a product produced in other countries, if it wants to circulate freely in the EU market, it must be affixed with the 'CE' mark to indicate that the product complies with the basic requirements of the EU's 'New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization' directive; this is a mandatory requirement for products imposed by EU law. It is similar to the requirements of our country's CCC compulsory certification .
During the CE certification process for motor products, in addition to product type testing, product protection level testing must also be carried out on a random basis. For motor manufacturers with strong testing capabilities, they can complete product type testing at the company with the approval of the certification body. However, for protection level testing, companies generally do not specify the test conditions and need to entrust a qualified testing agency to complete it.

During the CE certification process, the qualifications of suppliers of the main raw materials of motor products will be evaluated, mainly involving electromagnetic wires, lead wires, silicon steel plates, slot wedges, insulating varnishes, insulating tubes, composite materials, etc. This requirement is similar to the material requirements for China's CQC certification .

Some well-known foreign certification bodies will carry out certification body logo certification at the same time as CE certification , that is, the certification body's certification mark can be affixed at the same time as the CE mark. This can increase the market recognition of the products sold, but the certification body will have higher qualifications requirements for evaluating products, especially material suppliers, because the certification body bears certain responsibilities for the safety risks of products affixed with its mark and put on the market.
CE certification is only a 'passport' for products to enter the European market. If the product wants to enter the US market, Canada and other markets, it needs other market access certifications.
